Job Title: Carpenter

 

Key tasks and responsibilities:

· Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine materials, dimensions & installation procedures

· Select correct timbers and materials

· Prepare the layout of the project

· Cut timber, materials, assemble and install parts

· Erect frames and trusses

· Install wallboards and floorboards

· Nail fascia panels, sheath roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding and door and window frames

· Verify trueness of structure

· Interior lining and finish

· Inspect places and conduct repairs, maintenance, or renovations

· Ensure workmanship and observe health and safety regulations

· Any other duties the employer may reasonably require the employee to perform

Pay: Minimum $25 / hour   Maximum $32 / hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week:  permanent full time, minimum 30 hours   

Requirements for the job:

· At least 1 year of relevant work experience in a related industry/field; OR a Level 4 or higher qualification in a related field, such as Carpentry, Joinery, Building, Construction, Construction Technology, Interior Design/Fit-out, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related construction field.

· Be physically fit and healthy.

· Available to work full-time, including weekends when required.

· No criminal record.

· Candidates must be New Zealand citizens or residents.
