About the Role

Varinder and Anmol Limited is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Commercial Cleaner to join our team in Whangārei.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across commercial facilities. We are looking for someone with relevant cleaning experience, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering high-quality cleaning services.

This is a full-time position offering a minimum of 30 hours and up to 40 hours per week. Applicants must be available to work weekends as required.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Vacuuming carpets, curtains, and upholstered furniture.
• Cleaning, dusting, and polishing furniture, fixtures, and fittings.
• Collecting and disposing of rubbish and recyclable materials, including emptying bins and waste containers.
• Stripping wax from floors, re-waxing, and polishing floors.
• Cleaning and disinfecting bathroom and laundry fixtures and replenishing supplies.
• Reporting maintenance issues, including defective plumbing fixtures.
• Operating industrial vacuum cleaners and other commercial cleaning equipment to clean floors, work areas, and machinery.
• Removing dust and dirt from ceilings, walls, overhead pipes, and fixtures.
• Applying appropriate cleaning agents and solvents to remove stains and stubborn dirt, following safety procedures.
• Removing lint, dust, soot, oil, grease, sludge, and other residues from machinery and designated work areas, where required.
• Carrying out specialised cleaning tasks, including external building cleaning, where required and appropriately trained.

Skills and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A minimum of one year experience in a similar role or comparable equivalent qualification
• Availability to work weekends as required.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• An understanding of cleaning procedures, hygiene practices, and workplace health and safety.
• The ability to safely use cleaning equipment and handle cleaning chemicals.
• Good time-management and organisational skills.
• A reliable, responsible, and professional attitude.
