Own the triage process to route referrals to appropriate adult mental health services

Mental Health Clinician - Triage

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Clinician to join our Adult Community Mental Health Triage team based at Te Kuuwaha o te Waiora in Hamilton. Our Triage team provides a Single Point of Entry into Adult Community Mental Health Services across the Waikato region. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Mental Health Clinician Clinical Psychologist, Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Occupation Therapist who enjoys working in a busy team environment, has strong assessment skills and is confident making clinical decisions. You will have:

  • A current annual practicing certificate.
  • A current full NZ drivers licence.
  • Have experience working in mental health services.
  • Confidence completing mental health and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload.
  • A recovery-focused, trauma informed approach that values the involvement of tāngata whaiora and whānau.
  • The ability to be flexible, adaptable and willing to learn.
