Four-day week | Afternoon shift | Full training provided | Christmas & New Year break

Looking for more than just a job? This is an opportunity to start a career in printing and work towards a skilled trade.

Join an established label printing business with a genuinely great team culture. People are inclusive, respectful and enjoy working together, with exceptionally low staff turnover.

Perhaps you enjoy tinkering under the bonnet of a car, figuring out how things work, or have considered learning a trade. If you’re practical, mechanically minded, reliable and driven, this could be for you.

Some work experience is an advantage, even if it’s part-time work while studying. More importantly, you’ll be keen to learn and looking for a long-term career opportunity.

Why work here?

  • $27 per hour, plus 3.5% employer KiwiSaver contribution.

  • Monday to Thursday, 2.00pm–midnight, with a three-day weekend.

  • Paid for 40 hours per week, including a paid dinner break.

  • Overtime paid at time and a half (+ meal allowance when working o/time).

  • Full training, with the opportunity to progress into a company-paid apprenticeship and become a qualified Narrow Web Flexographic Printer.

  • A supportive team and a genuine opportunity to develop a skilled trade.

The role

Working alongside an experienced team, you’ll learn to operate specialist machinery and produce quality printed labels.

Your duties will include:

  • Assisting with label printing and finishing machinery.

  • Preparing and laying up printing plates.

  • Operating label turret rewinding machines.

  • Completing ink and plate wash-ups.

  • Monitoring production and carrying out quality checks.

  • Packing finished products and helping meet daily targets.

  • Following health and safety procedures and keeping work areas tidy.

What we’re looking for

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to get along with people.

  • Reliability, drive and a strong work ethic.

  • Mechanical aptitude and a practical, hands-on approach.

  • Good attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

  • A genuine interest in building a long-term career in a trade.

  • A full driver’s licence and reliable vehicle, unless you live close to the Mt Wellington workplace, as the shift finishes at midnight.

Start date & Christmas break

  • An ASAP start is available, but we’re happy to accommodate your notice period.

  • The business will be closed 23 December to 5 January inclusive. Pre-booked leave will be accommodated.
