We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to operate tractors and agricultural machinery and assist with general farm duties.

 

Hourly rate: $28 - $32 per hour.

Guaranteed hours: 30 per week.

Maximum hours: 55 per week.

Location: Tauranga, Bay of Plenty

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, inspect and operate tractors and agricultural machinery for orchard ground preparation and cultivation.

  • Attach and detach implements and adjust operating settings to suit the task and ground conditions.

  • Use tractors and trailers to transport materials, supplies and equipment around the orchard.

  • Clean and lubricate machinery and carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs.

  • Report machinery faults and safety concerns to the Site Manager.

  • Supervise team members assisting with machinery and orchard tasks, ensuring work follows safety procedures and the Site Manager’s instructions.

  • Assist with fencing, weed control, shed cleaning, irrigation setup and loading or unloading materials.

  • Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • At least three years of relevant agricultural machinery operating experience, or a relevant NZQCF Level 4 qualification or equivalent.

  • Class 1 driver licence
