LC Steel Limited is an Auckland-based company specialising in structural steel fabrication, welding and related steelwork projects. We are currently seeking several experienced full-time Metal Fabricators to join our team. This is a fulltime role with minimum 30 hours per week.

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Carry out metal fabrication, cutting, shaping, assembling and welding work for structural steel components and related construction projects, ensuring all work meets required specifications, quality and safety standards.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, plans and specifications to determine metal fabrication and structural steel requirements.
  • Select, measure and mark out steel and metal materials according to required dimensions and specifications.
  • Cut and shape steel sections using appropriate cutting equipment, grinders and metal fabrication tools.
  • Bend, form and prepare metal components such as beams, columns, brackets, frames and structural fittings.
  • Position, align and assemble fabricated metal components using measuring instruments, clamps and other tools.
  • Join metal components using appropriate welding techniques, bolting and other fastening methods to produce structural steel assemblies.
  • Inspect fabricated components, joints and welds to ensure correct dimensions, alignment, strength and workmanship.
  • Finish metal components by grinding, cleaning and removing defects, while maintaining equipment and following workplace health and safety requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Practical skills in metal cutting, shaping, assembling and welding.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Physically fit and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.
