MOVD is a growing New Zealand transport and logistics company, and we’re looking for experienced Class 5 Line Haul Drivers to join our expanding nationwide operation.

About the Role

As a Class 5 Line Haul Driver with MOVD, you’ll operate heavy vehicle combinations across our nationwide transport network.

Your responsibilities will include:

•   Long-distance Class 5 driving throughout New Zealand

•   Loading and unloading where required

•   Completing pre-start and daily vehicle inspections

•   Correctly securing and checking loads

•   Ensuring vehicles and equipment remain safe and compliant

•   Completing required driving-hour and logbook records

•   Communicating with dispatch and operations

•   Delivering freight safely, professionally and on schedule

•   Reporting defects, damage or maintenance requirements immediately

•   Maintaining your allocated truck and equipment to a high standard

Our drivers represent MOVD on the road. You’ll regularly interact with customers, businesses, dealerships and other transport operators, so professionalism and good communication are essential.

What We’re Looking For

You will ideally:

•   Hold a current NZ Class 5 Driver Licence

•   Have proven heavy vehicle and line haul experience

•   Be confident operating large truck and trailer combinations

•   Understand load restraint and heavy transport safety

•   Understand NZ driving-hour and logbook requirements

•   Be comfortable travelling nationwide and spending nights away

•   Be capable of working independently

•   Be reliable, punctual and communicate well

•   Take pride in keeping your truck and equipment clean and presentable

•   Have a professional attitude when dealing with customers

•   Be physically capable of performing the requirements of the role

•   Put safety ahead of rushing the job

Experience operating vehicle transporters, car carriers or specialist transport equipment would be a major advantage.

However, if you’re an experienced Class 5 line haul driver with the right attitude and are willing to learn specialist vehicle transport, we still want to hear from you.
