Jass Bhathal Enterprises Limited is seeking Heavy Truck Drivers.

It is a set line haul run and you will be required to stay overnight so you will be back every second night. The role involves carrying out deliveries across New Zealand while ensuring safety, efficiency, and top-quality service. You will be required to work in all locations in New Zealand including Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Manawatu-Whanganui, Marlborough, Wellington, Nelson, Northland, Otago, Southland, Taranaki, Tasman, Waikato, Westcoast.

This is full-time permanent employment (minimum 30 guaranteed hours). Responsibilities will include:

Your key responsibilities

  • Carry out transportation of general freight including dangerous goods, bulk deliveries and pickups from freight companies
  • Deliver and pickup goods from the freight companies with an ability to load and unload the truck using lifting and tipping devices, if required.
  • Carry out daily pre-checks of the vehicle and report any faults immediately
  • Report any problems, incidents/ accidents or customer complaints immediately
  • Secure the loads using load binders, chains and straps to prevent loss and damage of the goods
  • Adhere to Land Transport Safety Authority rules and regulations and keep a logbook of the hours worked
  • Keep records of, and check invoices for, goods you deliver/pickup.
  • Carry out any other duties as requested by the Managing Director

You will also be responsible to:

  • Observe safe work practices and rules relative to your work and the company will diligently enforce these rules.
  • Adhere to fatigue guidelines
  • Actively contribute to hazard identification and management
  • Participate in health and safety training
  • Adopt safe work practices

Qualifications & experience

  • At least 1 year relevant work experience
  • NZ Class 4 Driving License or Overseas Driving License with an ability to obtain NZ Class 4 License
  • Knowledge of how to secure loads using load binders, chains and strops
  • Must pass Drug and Alcohol Test
  • Must pass Ministry of Justice or Police Check
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Good time management skills

The pay range for this position is between $30 per hour to $35 per hour based upon experience.
