Love Turning Science Into Real-World Solutions?

We're looking for a curious, collaborative and solutions-focused Research Scientist to join our Advanced Protein Technologies team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your expertise in biochemistry, protein science and bioprocessing to a diverse range of research and innovation projects spanning health, food, primary industries and circular bioeconomy.

What You'll Be Doing

Working alongside talented colleagues from a range of scientific disciplines, you'll help turn innovative ideas into practical solutions. You'll be involved in:

  • Designing and delivering bench-scale biochemistry and bioprocessing experiments.
  • Developing protein/peptide purification and biotransformation processes.
  • Analysing results and sharing insights and recommendations with project partners.
  • Contributing to research plans and finding creative solutions to technical challenges.
  • Exploring emerging technologies and opportunities to advance our research.

What You'll Bring

You'll have a degree of Master or PhD in Biochemistry, Biomedical Science or a related field, along with approximately 1–5 years' experience in research, development or innovation.

Ideally, you'll also bring:

  • Technical skills required in protein and peptide research, enzymology and bioactivity screening.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical instruments relating to protein analysis, including chromatography.
  • Experience in product development of proteins/peptides from both natural sources and molecular engineering pathways
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, adaptable approach.

Experience with cell-based assays, immunoassays, AlphaFold or R platforms would be a bonus.

Sound like you?

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, learning new things and working with others to make a difference.

If you're excited by the opportunity to contribute to innovative science with real-world impact, we'd love to hear from you!
