X Square Limited based in Auckland, is specialized in foundation work and structural projects. We are looking for one excavator operator to join our awesome team. 

You will be expected to work at different sites throughout the Auckland region, a minimum of 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday as normal hours of work, and you may also be required to work on Saturday as well. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $32-$40 based on the candidates' experience and skills.

Job Description for This Position

  • Ensure equipment is properly prepared, set up, and ready for operation.

  • Operate and navigate machinery as required.

  • Use controls to perform tasks such as excavating, drilling, leveling, compacting, and transporting materials like soil and rock.

  • Carry out operations related to road construction, excavation, and material handling.

  • Oversee the equipment's performance, making necessary control adjustments to maximize efficiency and ensure coworker safety.

  • Operate machinery using both manual methods and electronic or digital systems.

  • Adhere closely to verbal and written instructions to maintain exceptional work standards.

  • Keep equipment clean and well-maintained, performing minor repairs and adjustments as needed.

Key Requirements for Successful Applicants

  • At least three years of relevant experience in operating excavating machine is required

  • Relevant qualification or certificate is an advantage.

  • Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role

  • Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.

  • A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress. 

  • Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
