Healthcare Security Officer
We are looking for Security Officers to join our team on a permanent, full time basis. The ideal applicant will be an excellent communicator who can deal with others in a courteous, tactful, and efficient manner, while remaining calm in high pressure situations. We work 12 hour shifts and 7 days a fortnight, on a rotating roster.
As part of the emergency response team, a typical day in the life of a Security Officer involves a combination of routine tasks and quick responses to unexpected situations. The shift will start and finish with a brief handover to ensure continued safety of the environment. The officer conducts regular patrols through Emergency Department, Triage, Wards and Departments, monitors CCTV systems, and ensures the safety of the staff, patients and visitors. Throughout the shift, they respond to calls for assistance or Code Grey calls, handle emergencies such as fire alarms, and document incidents. Effective communication with team members and a calm, professional demeanor is essential, especially during high-pressure situations.
To be successful in this role, you will have a good degree of physical fitness, and the ability to recall accurate information for report writing. Successful applicants in this role are subject to police vetting, so a clean criminal record is required, as well as a current NZ drivers licence.
Previous security experience would be advantageous. If you are motivated with a fantastic work ethic, respectful attitude, and a great sense of humour, don’t hesitate to apply.
