​​Job Description

  • Vacuum carpets, curtains and soft upholstered furniture; carry out spot cleaning for minor surface marks within holiday accommodation units.
  • Complete general cleaning, dusting and surface wiping of furniture, built‑in fixtures and interior fittings throughout each holiday property.
  • Remove general waste and recyclable items; empty and sanitise rubbish bins and service trays in guest areas.
  • Thoroughly clean, sanitise and disinfect bathrooms, toilets and laundry areas; restock guest consumables including toiletries, towels and paper products; inspect and report broken or faulty plumbing fixtures to management.
  • Wipe down floors and hard surfaces using standard domestic‑grade cleaning equipment in holiday homes.
  • Remove dust and surface grime from ceilings, walls and high‑level fixtures within guest accommodation.
  • Use appropriate standard‑strength cleaning detergents to remove everyday stains and dirt from surfaces, following safe product‑handling practices.
  • Prepare holiday accommodation units to a high guest‑ready standard after guest check‑out, covering bedrooms, kitchens, living areas, bathrooms and common spaces.
  • Check guest amenities, linens and property condition; report property damage, missing items or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
  • Strip, inspect and wash soiled linen (place in dryer if time permits); replace bed and bathroom linens, check mattress protectors and make beds to required standards.
  • Following the established house‑cleaning procedure, covering bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, floors, balconies, outdoor areas etc.
  • Complete any other reasonable work‑related assignments as arranged and instructed by the employer.

  • Job type: Full-time Permanent
  • Pay rate: 24.00- 30.00 New Zealand dollars per hour
  • Days required: Working days: Monday to Sunday, subject to a rotating roster.
  • Hours per week: At least 30

Job Requirement

Applicants must meet ONE of the following:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience;
  • A relevant New Zealand Level 2 qualification (or an equivalent overseas qualification);
  • A bachelor’s degree or above in any field, with strong learning aptitude and the ability to rapidly acquire the practical skills required for this role through structured on-the-job training.
