Kochhar Trading Limited T/A Green Acres, a provider of professional landscaping and garden maintenance services, is seeking a reliable Gardener to join its team in Auckland. The role involves gardening and outdoor maintenance tasks to keep lawns, gardens, and surrounding areas neat, tidy, and well-maintained. The role requires travel to various job sites within the Auckland region, with all fuel and travel expenses covered by the employer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow and maintain trees, hedges, shrubs, flowers, lawns, and other plants to keep outdoor spaces attractive and well-maintained.
  • Develop and maintain lawn areas by preparing ground surfaces, spreading grass seed, installing turf, and performing ongoing lawn care.
  •  Organise and undertake landscaping work, including choosing appropriate plants, materials, and decorative garden elements.
  • Carry out general garden upkeep, including grass cutting, irrigation, applying fertilisers, trimming, mulching, and removing weeds.
  • Prepare garden beds and planting spaces by conditioning the soil to support proper plant establishment and growth.
  • Trim and shape trees, hedges, and other plants, and fit support structures where necessary
  • Monitor plants and garden areas for signs of pest infestations, diseases, or deterioration, and undertake suitable control measures.
  • Clear away unhealthy or damaged plants and keep outdoor work areas clean and safe using suitable gardening equipment.
  • Build, repair, and maintain landscape elements such as garden paths, paved areas, edging, and gravel surfaces.
  • Move, organise, and handle gardening equipment, tools, and landscaping materials between different work locations while adhering to safety procedures.
  • Liaise with customers about gardening and landscaping requirements and provide updates on work progress as needed.

Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and will be paid between $30 to $35 per hour. 

Other Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience or a relevant Level 4 qualification.
  • A valid driver’s licence is required.
  • Available to work weekends as required and start work as early as 8:00 AM.
  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking, with a strong work ethic.
  • Good time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing outdoor and manual gardening tasks.
  • Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
