Automotive Painting & Body Repair Technician

What you'll be doing

1. Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming.

2. Mix and match paint colours to achieve accurate and consistent finishes.

3. Apply paint, clear coats, and other finishes using spray equipment.

4. Perform minor panel beating and body repairs, including dent removal, panel straightening, and surface preparation.

5. Remove and refit vehicle body panels and components as required for painting and repair work.

6. Repair surface imperfections, including scratches, chips, and minor paint defects, prior to refinishing.

7. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets high-quality standards.

8. Maintain and clean spray-painting equipment and work areas.

9. Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.

10. Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion.

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 2 years' experience in automotive spray painting, refinishing, or a similar role.

2. Strong knowledge of automotive paint systems, tools, and refinishing techniques.

3. Basic body repair skills, with the ability to carry out minor dent repairs and simple panel repairs.

4. High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.

5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

6. Good time management and organisational skills.

7. Strong awareness of workplace health and safety practices.

8. Willingness to learn and stay up to date with industry developments.
