We are seeking skilled and experienced Drainlayers to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing drainage systems in accordance with NZ plumbing codes and local council regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of drainage principles, excellent practical skills, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities:
- Installing and connecting drainage pipes, manholes, and other drainage components.
- Laying and grading pipes to ensure proper flow.
- Working with various pipe materials, including PVC, concrete, and clay.
- Inspecting and diagnosing drainage system issues.
- Clearing blocked drains and repairing damaged pipes.
- Conducting CCTV inspections and providing reports.
- Ensuring all work complies with NZ plumbing codes (NZBC G13) and local council bylaws.
- Obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed.
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations, including the use of appropriate PPE.
- Conducting site safety assessments.
- Working safely in confined spaces.
- Operating and maintaining drainlaying equipment, including excavators, trenchers, and CCTV equipment.
- Collaborating with other tradespeople and site supervisors.
- Communicating effectively with team members and clients.
Requirements and Skills:
- Current Drainlaying Registration (or working towards it) and at least three years of relevant experience.
- Site Safe passport.
- Valid driver's licence (Class 2 preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret drainage plans and specifications.
- Proficiency in using drainlaying tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Confined spaces training.
- Experience with CCTV drain inspections is an advantage.
- Experience operating heavy machinery is an advantage.
- First aid certification is an advantage.
- Be willing to undergo random drug tests while employed.
- Must be NZ Citizen, NZ Resident or eligible to work in NZ.
The successful applicants will also have the opportunity to work in different locations (Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Nelson-Tasman, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago and Southland), providing a unique chance to explore New Zealand's diverse regions.
This is a full-time permanent role, and the hourly pay rate is between NZ$35 and NZ$53, depending on experience and registration. The work hours are from 30 hours minimum to 70 hours maximum per week, and they are to be worked between Monday and Friday between 7 am and 5 pm. They may be required to work on weekends.
