Wanted FORKLIFT OPERATORS for Eagle Recruitment & Contracting in NORTHLAND

We are seeking reliable and experienced Forklift Operators to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving goods within our warehouse and/or yard using a forklift. They will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of operations and maintaining a safe working environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck, etc.) safely and efficiently to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
  • Conduct daily pre-start checks on forklifts and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
  • Load and unload trucks, containers, and other vehicles.
  • Stack and organise pallets and goods in designated warehouse areas.
  • Pick and pack orders as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials moved and stored.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as required.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all loads are secure and stable before moving.
  • Work effectively in a fast paced enviroment.

 

Requirements and Skills:

  • At least three years of relevant experience.
  • Full Driver's Licence or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Valid NZ Forklift Operator's Certificate (OSH/F Endorsement) preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to read and interpret delivery dockets and other documentation.
  • Experience with reach trucks and/or high-reach forklifts is an advantage.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as Oracle Warehouse Management Cloud, and Cin7 Core is an advantage.
  • First Aid Certificate is an advantage.
  • Dangerous Goods Handling Certification is an advantage.
  • Experience in logistics, construction, and/or manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Be willing to undergo random drug tests while employed.
  • Must be NZ Citizen, NZ Resident or eligible to work in NZ.

 

The successful applicants will also have the opportunity to work in different locations (Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Nelson-Tasman, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago and Southland), providing a unique chance to explore New Zealand's diverse regions.

 

This is a full-time permanent role, and the hourly pay rate is between NZ$25 and NZ$30, depending on experience and qualification. The work hours are from 30 hours minimum to 70 hours maximum per week, and they are to be worked between Monday and Friday between 7 am and 5 pm. They may be required to work on weekends.
