Wanted CLASS 5 DRIVERS for Eagle Recruitment & Contracting in MARLBOROUGH

Responsibilities:
- Safely operate Class 5 vehicles, including heavy ridged trucks, truck and trailer units, semi-trailers, ‘B’ trains (two semi-trailers), ‘A’ trains (one semi-trailer with a full trailer behind)
- Transport goods to designated locations within specified timeframes, adhering to delivery schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring vehicles are in safe working condition.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logbooks and documentation, including trip sheets, delivery dockets, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Comply with all relevant New Zealand transport regulations, including driving hours and load limits.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring secure and safe handling.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
- Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle.
- Adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements and Skills:
- Valid NZ Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent.
- At least two years of proven experience driving Class 5 vehicles.
- Sound knowledge of New Zealand road regulations and transport legislation.
- Excellent driving record with a clean driving history.
- Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Strong understanding of load restraint and safe loading practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.
- Experience with one or more NZTA-approved electronic logbooks and GPS navigation is advantageous.
- Road Ranger Truck experience an advantage.
- Dangerous Goods endorsement an advantage.
- Forklift licence an advantage.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

- Be willing to undergo random drug tests while employed.
- Must be NZ Citizen, NZ Resident or eligible to work in NZ.
The successful applicants will also have the opportunity to work in different locations (Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Nelson-Tasman, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago and Southland), providing a unique chance to explore New Zealand's diverse regions.
This is a full-time permanent role, and the hourly pay rate is between NZ$30 and NZ$35, depending on experience. The work hours are from 30 hours minimum to 70 hours maximum per week, and they are to be worked between Monday and Friday between 7 am and 7 pm. They may be required to work on weekends.
