We are seeking experienced and reliable EMP Operators to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various earthmoving machinery, contributing to the successful completion of our projects. They will be expected to adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a high standard of workmanship.

Responsibilities:
- Operating a variety of earthmoving equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, graders, loaders, and rollers.
- Performing tasks such as excavation, trenching, grading, and compaction.
- Operating equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations, including site-specific safety plans.
- Conducting pre-start checks and daily maintenance on equipment.
- Identifying and reporting potential hazards.
- Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Reporting any equipment faults or damage promptly.
- Ensuring equipment is operated within its safe working limits.
- Reading and interpreting site plans and drawings.
- Working collaboratively with other site personnel.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Maintaining accurate records of equipment operation and maintenance.
- Completing daily logbooks and other required documentation.
Requirements and Skills:
- Relevant NZQA unit standards for operating specific plant machinery or at least two years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of earthmoving techniques and procedures.
- Wheels, Tracks and Rollers (WTR) endorsements on driver’s licence.
- Site Safe passport.
- Valid driver's licence (class 2 or higher preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret site plans and drawings.
- Excellent operating skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical fitness.
- Work will be performed on construction sites and in various outdoor environments.
- Work may involve exposure to noise, dust, and inclement weather.
- Physical demands include operating heavy machinery and working in varying terrain.
- Experience with GPS-guided earthmoving equipment is an advantage.
- First aid certification is an advantage.
- Be willing to undergo random drug tests while employed.
- Must be NZ Citizen, NZ Resident or eligible to work in NZ.
The successful applicants will also have the opportunity to work in different locations (Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Nelson-Tasman, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago and Southland), providing a unique chance to explore New Zealand's diverse regions.
This is a full-time permanent role, and the hourly pay rate is between NZ$30 and NZ$40, depending on experience and qualification. The work hours are from 30 hours minimum to 70 hours maximum per week, and they are to be worked between Monday and Friday between 7 am and 5 pm. They may be required to work on weekends.
