The Opportunity:

They are currently strengthening their Auckland based sales team and are looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager, who will identify, negotiate, and secure high-value deals with commercial customers.

To be successful in this role you must be confident and motivated to identify potential prospects, open doors, talk to decision makers and create opportunities.

The Role:

  • Proactively seek out new prospects, generating your own leads as well as work with leads supplied by the company
  • Deliver on sales activities such as prospecting, introduction meetings, client qualification and presentations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within target organizations
  • Manage your sales pipeline, with regular contact to nurture prospects, into new customers.
  • Identify customer growth opportunities and pitch solutions to meet these.
  • Offer customised solutions to suit the specific needs of each customer.
  • Ability to present the ROI to clients and the benefits to their business.
  • Forecast and plan around any specific client projects.
  • Maintain a technical understanding of the companies’ solutions
  • This is a client facing role. You will be out talking to new and existing customers. No desk jockeys please!


About You:

  • Business Development is your background.  You are confident in prospecting and new business activities.
  • 3++ years sales experience and looking for a long-term role.
  • Your engaging personality enables you to open doors of opportunity and build on business relationships.
  • Confidence to prospect with customers from larger companies.
  • Your sales activity is proactive. You prefer to be out visiting customers than sitting behind a desk.
  • A consultative sales approach, offering the right solutions to meet customers’ specific needs.
  • Able to proactively plan and manage an effective sales strategy and pipeline.
  • Ability to identify where you can bring value to a business.
  • Gaining industry knowledge is important to you so you can offer the right solutions to your customers.
  • You are Self-Motivated and Accountable.  You don’t need your hand held, or to be managed.
  • Experience using a CRM.  Confident MS Office Suite
