Looking for Diesel Motor Mechanics on behalf of a client.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform all general repair to heavy road transport trucks and trailers including
    repair wiring faults, brake repairs to industry standard, air system, suspension
    repair, driveline repair.
  • Perform engine overhaul both in frames and block removed
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs of trucks and equipment.
  • Truck engine, and Caterpillar engine servicing and repair.
  • Carry out servicing of heavy trucks , transporter and repair them to NZ Land
    Transport COF standard.
  • Auto and manual heavy transmission diagnosis and repair.
  • Eaton 18 speed manual heavy transmission repair.
  • Cab repairs, accident repairs to reinstate trucks to road worthiness.
  • Participate in the after hours call out roster and attend breakdowns during day
    times as required.
  • Work in safe and productive manner with respect to your fellow workers.
  • Participate in tool box meetings and fortnightly workshop meetings.
  • Perform all tasks with yourself and your fellow workers' safety in mind.
  • Report and record all injuries, accidents, near miss events whether minor or
    not.
  • Follow and maintain the Company's Policies and Procedures as outlined in
    the contract.
  • Assist and maintain the Company's Policies and Procedures as outlined in
    the contract.
  • Assist in the tools direction and technical training of apprentices when
    required and without prejudice.
  • Present yourself in a professional manner while performing your tasks and at
    all times in the presence of customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements for the role:

- At least 3 years relevant experience
- Certifications relevant to the role preferred but not required
- Physically fit / Must be in good physical condition
- Good communications skills
- Teamplayer
