Store Person

We are looking for store persons to manage the operations of our busy store located in Hamilton. We have three vacant positions to fill in ASAP.

These are permanent, full-time roles and we offer a minimum guaranteed 30 hours per week of work. We offer competitive remuneration between $24- $30 per hour based on your skills and abilities.

The Role

·       Assist in Managing Store Operations including inventory management, staff schedules, and customer satisfaction.

·       Ensure that inventory is adequately stocked, conduct stock takes, and coordinate replenishment of stock in collaboration with the employer/ manager

·       Oversee cash handling, banking procedures and ensure all transactions are processed accurately.

·       Assist the employer/ manager in ensuring the store complies with all local health and safety regulations, including food safety, workplace safety, and environmental laws.

·       Support with opening and closing procedures, including securing the premises, and handling daily cash.

·       Ensure that the store consistently delivers exceptional customer service by addressing customer concerns.

·       Assist with implementing in-store promotions to attract and retain customers.

·       Assist in creating work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels during peak and off-peak hours.

·       Support the employer/ manager in training new staff, developing their skills, and ensuring they are knowledgeable about product offerings, customer service standards.

·       Help maintain accurate records of employee hours, product sales, and financial transactions.

·       Provide input and solutions for operational challenges, and assist with decision-making regarding inventory, customer service, and staff management.

·       Responsible for shop presentations and displays to attract more customers.

·       Assist the employer/ manager with the daily operational tasks.

About you:

 ·       NZQF Level 2 or 3 qualifications is required to efficiently carry out the responsibilities of this role.

·       In the absence of qualification, having relevant industry/ position experience for at least one year is required.

·       Good communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Availability to work in a rostered shifts, including- evening, weekends and public holidays.
