Job Title: Metal Fabricator
Location: Christchurch / Canterbury Region

Employment Type: Permanent
Days Required: 6 days
Hours Each Week: Minimum of 30 hrs - (typically 40+ hours)
Hourly Rate or Salary Band: Starting from $29.67 per hour

Main Tasks:
  • Working with all different sorts of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine fabrication job requirements to make frames for metal export.
  • Measure and mark out the size, shape, and location of cutouts and joints on metal stock.
  • Use specialized tools to cut, bend, or shape metal into the desired structure or product.
  • Join metal sections together by welding, bolting, and riveting.
  • Assist in sorting and grading of metal materials
  • Clean and smooth welds by filing, chiselling, and grinding.
Additional Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a metal fabricator or similar role.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of metal properties and welding techniques.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality of workmanship.
  • Physical strength and stamina to handle metal materials and operate machinery.
  • Certification in welding or relevant qualifications would be advantageous.
