Bookkeeper

Due to the business requirement, we need 1 full time Bookkeeper to join our business urgently in Auckland.

We prefer the candidate: 

1. Three year relevant experience or a level 4 or above relevant qualification
2. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial best practices
3. Proficiency in Xero, payroll systems, and MS Excel
4. Adaptable to change and able to do multiple tasks by cooperating with team members
5. Able to work under pressure to meet job deadline
6. Must accept flexible hours of work to cope with heavy workload on weekends

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Proficient in using the financial software Xero. Ensuring all bank transactions and cashflow are proceed accurately. Reconciling accounts against monthly bank statments.
2. Reviewing, recording and managing all incoming invoices.
3. Managing outgoing invoices and payments, maintaining vendor relations, and overseeing incoming payments and customer invoicing.
4. Maintaining and updating the chart of accounts, ensuring each transaction is recorded under the correct account.
5. Conduting detailed verification of all financial transactions to ensure accuracy.
6. Responsible for entry and management of all bills, maintaining completeness in financial recrods
7. Ensuring correct calculation and reporting of GST
8. Assisting external accountants with preparing and adjusting financial statements, including compiling monthly operational reports
9. Conducting month-end accural processes, including commission tracking and calculations
10. Aiding the Finance Manager in maintaining fixed asset records
11. Ensuring accurate recording of the cost and sales of each inventory item.
