· Perform tasks to identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components.
· Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other vehicle parts for inspection and assessment.
· Repair or replace faulty and defective components, and reassemble mechanical systems following service manual guidelines.
· Carry out scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups, to enhance vehicle performance and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
· Reassemble engines and vehicle parts after repairs are completed.
· Test and adjust mechanical components post-repair to ensure optimal performance.
· Diagnose and test parts using electronic diagnostic tools and equipment.
The successful candidate must have:
- At least two years, ideally three years of relevant work experience or a relevant formal NZ level 4 certificate or equivalent.
- Good work attitude and good communication skills
- Strong motivation
- Physical fitness and could handle the heavy workload
- Quality workmanship and eye for detail
- Strong dedication to health and workplace safety
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work with other team members.
- Strong ability to work independently
