We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Auckland-based team. While a formal qualification is not mandatory, some industry knowledge and experience are preferred.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service to clients while ensuring that all HVAC projects align with the company's goals and uphold its strong reputation. Your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will contribute to maintaining high standards of service and operational efficiency.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of the HVAC team, including task assignment, scheduling, and ensuring timely project completion.
  2. Monitor and inspect HVAC installations and repairs to ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulations.
  3. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex HVAC issues, providing technical guidance and support to technicians.
  4. Conduct routine inspections of HVAC systems, identifying potential problems and recommending preventive maintenance solutions.
  5. Train and mentor HVAC technicians, ensuring proper installation techniques, equipment operation, and repair procedures are followed.
  6. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to understand requirements and provide expert recommendations.
  7. Stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices to enhance team expertise and efficiency.
  8. Manage inventory of HVAC equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring availability for scheduled projects and repairs.
  9. Maintain accurate records of work orders, equipment maintenance, and service history for reporting and compliance purposes.
  10. Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all team members.
  11. Ensure that the inspection department approves all fittings, ducts, water pipes, and other accessories before installation begins.
  12. Ensure timely delivery of all required tools and equipment, including power tools, hand tools, scaffolding, and ladders, in the exact quantities specified.
  13. Prepare, submit, and obtain approval for HVAC shop drawings, work method statements, MEP coordination drawings, and project specifications from the head engineer.
  14. Coordinate installation schedules with team members and other departments involved in the project to ensure seamless execution.
  15. Analyze system performance to determine optimal equipment efficiency and diagnose faults for necessary improvements.
