Job Summary:

As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and installing structural and finishing elements in residential homes. You will work closely with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with building regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Study drawings and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
  • Order and select appropriate timbers and materials while preparing accurate layouts.
  • Cut, shape, and assemble materials, securing components with nails, screws, and adhesives.
  • Construct and install framework, roof structures, sub-flooring, and floorboards, ensuring structural accuracy.
  • Install exterior elements, including fascia panels, roofing sheathing, cladding, and door/window frames.
  • Assemble and fit wooden structures, cabinetry, and fittings according to design specifications.
  • Cut and shape wood joints for secure and durable construction.
  • Construct concrete formwork as needed.
  • Repair and refurbish existing wooden fittings and structures.
  • Work with a variety of materials, including plastic laminates, Perspex, and metals, for custom finishes.

Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience in residential construction.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in a dynamic construction environment.
