Little Oak Café & Bakery Ltd T/A Little Oak Bakery, located at 75 Hingaia Road in Karaka, is a popular local spot known for its quality baking and friendly service. The bakery serves up a great selection of fresh, handmade goods—from sandwiches and pies to cakes and specialty coffees—making it a go-to place for locals looking for something tasty and satisfying.

We are currently looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our dedicated team.  The position is full-time permanent with a minimum of 30 hours per week.

The role requires working six days per week, with one rostered day off. Workdays will be scheduled between Monday and Sunday, with occasional adjustments based on operational requirements and with appropriate notice. Usual working hours are from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The hourly pay rate ranges from NZD 25 to 28, depending on skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  •          Assist bakers in preparing doughs, batters, and other baking mixtures
  •          Bake all items in the oven, ensuring correct temperatures and baking times
  •          Operate baking equipment and follow recipes accurately
  •          Ensure all customer special orders are completed on time
  •          Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and work area
  •          Package and label baked goods for sale
  •          Provide friendly service to customers when required
  •          Follow all health and safety regulations
  •          Comfortable working in a hot environment

Requirements:

  •          1 – 3 months of relevant baking assistant experience
  •          Good physical stamina and attention to detail
  •          Friendly personality with strong teamwork and communication skills
