Howick Bakehouse is looking for a hardworking and reliable Baker to join our team. Working hours are between 30 and 36 hours per week. Pay rate ranges from $30 to $31 per hour.
Suitable candidates must have the following skills and attributes:

Relevant qualification (level 4 or above) and 1 year relevant work experience, or at least 3 years relevant work experience if no qualification.

Able to start at 4.30am; available to work on weekends and public holidays.

Physically fit for heavy liftings and tasks that requires physical strength.

Able to work well in a fast-paced environment and be a team player.

Have strong multitasking and organizational skills.
Your duties will include:

Check the cleanliness of food preparation area and baking equipment.

Check oven and baking equipment to ensure everything works well.

Check the quality of raw material, weight and measure ingredients.

Knead, mature, cut, mould, mix and shape dough and pastry goods.

Prepare pastry fillings, sauces, cream, icing.

Monitor oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking time.

Remove baked goods from oven and cool baked goods.

Glaze buns and pastries, decorate baked goods with cream and icing.

Perform any other related duties as required.
