Carpenter

Main tasks & responsibilities:

• Use carpentry tools and equipment, as well as handling carpentry material
• Understands and applies quality control techniques Install and replace windows and doors
• Install flooring systems, construct wall frames, construct ceiling frames, erect roof trusses
• Refurbish timber sashes to window frames
• Construct pitched roofs, eaves and advanced roofs
• Construct, erect and dismantle formwork for stairs and ramps
• Cut and bend materials using oxy-LPG equipment.
• Carry out general demolition of minor building structures
• Erect and dismantle formwork to suspended slabs, columns, beams and walls, and for
  footings and slabs on ground
• Erect and dismantle slip as well as jump from formwork
• Plan and organise work, carry out measurements, calculations, read and interpret plans and specifications
• Apply workplace health and safety requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry.
• Is able to inspect products and/or materials for conformity with established operational
  standards.
• Assists in the provision of on-the-job training.

The successful candidate will have:

• Minimum 3 years of relative experience in construction industry
• Positive approach toward teamwork
• Good communication skills and attention to details

What we offer:
$31.61- $35.00 per hour or depends on your experience and skills.
Guaranteed a minimum of 40 hours a week, up to a maximum of 50 hours per week. Working on different sites and projects in Christchurch.
