Wood Machinist

We are seeking multiple Wood Machinists to join our company located in Rolleston, offering rotational dayshift/nightshift and weekend opportunities.

These are permanent full-time roles, requiring a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week. Day shift hours are from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, while night shift hours are from 5:00 pm to 3:30 am, Monday to Thursday, necessitating access to personal transportation.

A successful applicant must be able to operate machinery to process timber components according to specifications, including cutting, planning, shaping, and sanding.

Handle splitting packs of timber for ISPM 15 traceability, including transferring and recording pack numbers. Apply appropriate traceability marks, date codes, etc., to machined timber.

Assemble products to customer specifications based on job sheets.

Conduct quality checks on workmanship and machined components.

Grade and load timber onto robot jigs and operate robots.

Job Requirements:

• Wood Machinist with a minimum of three years relevant work experience,
• Prior experience as a Wood Machinist, including proficiency with bandsaws, table saws, thicknesser/planer, and handheld nail guns,
• Physical fitness and ability to work effectively in a team,
• Demonstrated reliability and excellent work history,
• Commitment to health and safety protocols,
• Strong written and verbal communication skills,
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test,
• access to personal transportation,
• Leadership experience is advantageous but not required.
