Painter

Key responsibilities:

·          Setting up scaffolding, ladders, and protective coverings to prepare the worksite and safeguard surrounding areas from paint spills

·          Preparing surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, repairing timber surfaces, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing surfaces

·          Mixing and preparing paint to achieve specified colours and consistencies using pigments, oil, and other required components

·          Applying paints, varnishes and stains using brushes, rollers or spray equipment

·          Installing wallpaper with careful attention to pattern alignment and edge trimming for a neat, high-quality finish

·          Occasionally repairing windows and replacing glass in wooden or metal frames Performing occasional window repairs, including replacing glass panes in timber or metal frames

Requirements:

To be considered, applicants must have:

·        A Level 4 qualification in a construction-related field or a minimum of two years’ relevant industry experience

·        Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team

·        Good understanding of health and safety practices on job sites

·        Experience using suitable brushes, rollers and spray-painting equipment

·        Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights and in varied weather conditions
