The Farm Labourer is responsible for assisting in the general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the farm, including fencing, building maintenance, painting, farm cleanliness, and machinery operation. The role also involves livestock care, pasture management, and basic farm development tasks to ensure smooth farm operations.

  • Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed. 
  • Employee housing is provided on-site, and applicants must reside in the farm accommodation. No drive-in options available.
  • Accommodation may be shared or private, depending on availability at the time of successful placement. No pets allowed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must be physically fit and willing to learn.
  • Applicants must pass pre-employment drug test and have no criminal record.
  • Must have a driver licence
  • Basic knowledge of painting techniques and farm maintenance.
  • Willingness to learn dairy operations, stock management, and pasture care.
  • Understanding of farm safety practices and hygiene standards.

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience in fencing, painting, welding, or minor carpentry.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Farm Maintenance & Repairs: General maintenance, fencing, painting, mowing, and basic carpentry/plumbing/electrical tasks.
  2. Painting & Protective Coatings: Paint farm structures and equipment; prepare surfaces and apply protective coatings.
  3. Equipment & Machinery Handling: Operate and maintain farm machinery; safely store chemicals and fertilizers.
  4. Cleaning & Farm Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness of farm buildings, equipment, and dairy shed; manage waste disposal.
  5. Livestock & Dairy Support: Assist with milking, livestock handling, and maintaining stockyard facilities.
  6. Pasture & Crop Management: Monitor pasture conditions, manage weeds, and support crop planting and fertilization.
  7. Physical Fitness: Capacity to perform manual labour, lifting, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  8. Safety Awareness: Knowledge of farm safety practices, handling chemicals, and PPE requirements.
  9. Teamwork & Communication: Ability to work collaboratively with farm managers and fellow workers.
