We are a well-established business based in Auckland, and we are looking to employ four (4) Telecommunication Technicians in the Auckland region in full-time permanent roles. As a Telecommunication Technician, you will be responsible for Fibre installations, maintenance, and remedial work.
You will be guaranteed 30 hours per week between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Saturday. You must be available to work late evenings and Sundays if required. Hourly rate of pay is between $27.00 to $33.00 for the right candidate.
As a Telecommunication Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Ultra-fast broadband providing broadband to the IT sector and New Zealand
- Study network plans and scope new sites for installation
- Jointing and Splicing of the Fibre optic FFP’s, joints cabinets, exchanges
- Installation of FAT’s
- Installation of data cables and termination
- Repairing and replacing network infrastructure devices, ONT, peripherals and other equipment
- Installing Routers, Switches, ADSL and VDSL Modems and Configuration
- Working with heights and installation aerial fibre boxes
- Testing of splitters and modems
- Working with customer equipment
- Installation of telecommunication networks and appliances in homes, telephone, exchanges and other sites
- Setting up and configuration network devices, routers, modems STB boxes, network storage devices, ONT(Optical Network Terminal) and other IP based IOP (Internet of things) devices
- Programming, configuring and installation of RGW and ONT's
- Designing and installing CAT6 networking and connections to modem, router to provide residential customers access to ultrafast broadband internet
- Blowing of fibre optic cables
- Fault Diagnostic, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Any new projects that may arise in the IT and Telecommunications field where training will be provided
- Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed at all times and assist in the implementation of health and safety and quality aspects
Requirements for the role:
- Must have some relevant qualification
- Preferably have some relevant work experience
- Ability to understand design documents and plans
- Preferably have STMS Cat A/B practicing and Traffic Management Operative practicing
- Class 1 driver's license or international equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- You should be physically fit
- You must be committed to work and be honest and reliable.
