Westland Mining is looking for four skilled Diesel Motor mechanics to maintain and repair our fleet of excavators and heavy machinery. If you have a passion for keeping equipment running at peak performance and want to be part of a dynamic mining team, this is the opportunity for you!

Responsibilities:

·      Identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in excavators and other heavy machinery and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.

·      Conduct scheduled servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication, ensuring optimal equipment performance.

·      Perform thorough inspections to detect potential faults early, preventing costly breakdowns.

·      Quickly and efficiently troubleshoot technical issues, using diagnostic tools and hands-on expertise.

·      Replace worn-out parts, conduct full engine overhauls, and repair hydraulic systems when necessary.

·      Work closely with operators and site managers to ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently.

·      Maintain accurate service logs, maintenance records, and repair reports.

·      Adhere to workplace safety protocols and environmental regulations, ensuring all tasks are performed in a safe manner.

 Requirements:

·      At least 2 years of relevant work experience OR

·      Relevant qualification at NZQA Level 4 or higher

·      Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

·      Commitment to workplace safety and team collaboration

·      Ability to work flexible hours and in all weather conditions
