Responsibilities:

  • Assisting carpenters, bricklayers, and other tradespeople with their tasks.

     

  • Preparing construction sites by clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, and ensuring a safe working environment.

     

  • Loading, unloading, and transporting materials, tools, and equipment.

     

  • Operating hand and power tools under supervision.

     

  • Mixing and pouring concrete and mortar.

     

  • Digging trenches and excavations.

     

  • Assisting with site clean-up and maintaining a tidy and organized work area.

     

  • Following instructions from supervisors and adhering to safety regulations at all times.

     

  • Performing general labouring duties as required.

 

Requirements and Skills:

  • At least two years of work experience in a labouring role, particularly in the construction industry.

     

  • No formal qualifications are required, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.

     

  • Reliability and punctuality are crucial.

     

  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.

     

  • Good physical fitness and stamina to handle manual tasks.

     

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

     

  • A strong commitment to health and safety procedures.

     

  • Basic understanding of construction site safety is preferred.

     

  • Holding a SiteSafe passport is advantageous.

     

  • Depending on site locations, a valid driver's licence and own transport may be beneficial.

     

  • Be willing to undergo random drug tests while employed.

     

  • Must be an NZ Citizen, NZ Resident, or eligible to work in NZ.

 

The successful applicants will also have the opportunity to work in different locations (Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Nelson-Tasman, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago and Southland), providing a unique chance to explore New Zealand's diverse regions.

 

This is a full-time permanent role, and the hourly pay rate is between NZ$25 and NZ$35, depending on experience. The work hours are from 30 hours minimum to 70 hours maximum per week, and they are to be worked between Monday and Friday, between 7 am and 5 pm. They may be required to work on weekends.
