We are part of Fairview Aluminium Windows and Doors which is a leading brand in the industry of aluminium window and door manufacturing and installation. We are based in Auckland and provide quality customised services in Auckland Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas.

Currently, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to assist our team in the operation and maintenance of our workshop plants and equipment.

Your Duties:

  1. Being full responsible for preparing drawings, sketches, plans, designs, instructions and  models for machines, equipment, mechanical installations and facilities

2.         Reviewing plans for new products, discussing with producers of materials during the investigation and evaluation of materials suitable for specific product manufacturing

3.         Recommending material selection in accordance with design specifications and factors such as strength, weight and cost, market trends, and customers’ preference

4.      Ensuring that the selection of tools, materials and equipment is in compliance with the   relevant rules and standards

5..        Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements

6.         Selecting proper tools, equipment, assembling and installing new and modified components, machine tools and controls

7.         Providing mechanical related technical assistance in introducing and installing new mechanical equipment and plants

8. Making sure the finished works are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions

9.         Diagnosing defects in materials and instituting remedial action

11.       Monitoring the operation and maintenance of equipment to achieve maximum efficiency under safe operating conditions

12.       Performing and directing product tests and measurements

13    Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant.

14    Collecting, reviewing and analyzing product data, including failure data, defect rate, carrying out complex computations and preparing diagrams and modeling to advise on ways to overcome and avoid any problems

15.       Studying pollution/waste control problems if any, taking remedial measures and facilitating safe and health work practice.

16. Providing supervision and training and support to the workshop workers for a full range of engineering related technical duties.

 

The minimum skills experience and qualifications for the role:

  • relevant tertiary qualification, or at least three years of work experience in the fields of mechanical engineering or automation
