We are a busy and well-established liquor store dedicated to providing our community with a wide selection of quality beverages and excellent customer service. We're seeking a motivated and experienced Store Manager to lead our team and ensure smooth daily operations.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Auckland, offering a minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week. The hourly rate ranges from $24.00 to $25.00 NZD, depending on skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the licensed premises to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
• Plan, formulate, and implement operational budgets and business strategies
• Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales volumes to maximize profit
• Determine and apply various marketing tools to increase sales
• Analyze and interpret market trends to decide on the appropriate product mix before ordering new stock
• Purchase stock based on sales data, stock levels, and market popularity
• Ensure all stock is accurately priced and displayed
• Periodically organize and participate in stocktakes
• Ensure accurate receipting and invoicing of check-in and check-out stock reports
• Establish systems to safeguard and manage store service equipment
• Plan and implement special promotions and adjust pricing to remain competitive in line with stock levels
• Maintain daily banking and accounting records, and carry out regular audits
• Facilitate supplier payments and, where appropriate, negotiate improved terms
• Ensure efficient, friendly, and professional service is consistently delivered to customers, and manage customer concerns effectively
• Oversee staffing, delegate tasks appropriately, and regularly assess performance
• Organize training for new or existing staff and provide ongoing supervision and support
• Ensure full compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
• Ensure adherence to all applicable liquor licensing legislation
Job Requirements:
• A NZ Bachelor degree in Business (higher)
• At least five years of relevant retail or management experience
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• In-depth knowledge of liquor licensing laws and retail compliance
• Proven ability to manage stock, sales targets, and budgets
• Competence in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications
