About the Role

General Gardener – Lawn Mowing, Gardening & Property Maintenance

We are seeking a reliable and motivated General Gardener to join our outdoor services team. This is a hands-on role involving routine lawn care, garden maintenance, and light property upkeep. The role suits someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in presentation, and can work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lawn mowing, trimming, edging, and weed control.
  • Pruning, hedge trimming, planting, and mulching.
  • General garden clean-ups and seasonal maintenance tasks.
  • Use and maintenance of outdoor power tools and gardening equipment.
  •  Basic property maintenance tasks (e.g., pressure washing, path clearing, green waste disposal).
  • Ensuring job sites are left tidy and well-presented.
  • Reporting any site issues or hazards to management.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in gardening, landscaping, lawn care, or property maintenance.
  • Familiarity with garden tools, ride-on mowers, line trimmers, and safety procedures.
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Good time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  • A valid NZ driver’s licence is preferred.

Qualifications

  • A certificate or diploma in horticulture, landscaping, or parks and garden maintenance is an advantage.
  • On-the-job training will be provided for suitable candidates without formal qualifications.

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: e.g., 31 hours per week

Salary Range: NZD $30 per hour
