We are looking to recruit (5) Five Telecommunication Technicians to work in the Waikato Region. The roles are permanent and working hours are between Monday to Sunday (7am-7pm) with a minimum guaranteed 30 hours a week. Hourly rate of $25-$30 per hour.
Job Duties:
Repair, adjust and replace cables, wires, routers, modems, telephones etc.
Use of Different network topology to setup and manage the network infrastructure.
Maintain the network to ensure efficient operations. Optimize network when necessary
Make sure all machines in the network are compatible
Programming ONT
Install Aerial and Underground Cables
Digging and Reinstating
Coordinate with other utility providers, during and after repairs
Monitor data network, perform troubleshoot, fault finding and repair and replace fibre
Use Splicer machines to splice broken Fibre cables on customer premises on the Optical Terminal Network
Capable of using hand and power tools
Fibre Blowing and use of OTDR Machines
Develop and upgrade existing networks to meet customer requirements
Resolving Inside Plant and Exchange
Provide support for minor civil works associated with telecommunications infrastructure, which includes tasks like digging trenches, laying pipes, and installing cables
Ensure that telecommunications pits are installed and maintained to meet industry standards and safety regulations
Conduct repairs and maintenance to address blockages or faults in the telecommunications network
Perform rodding and roping activities to maintain the smooth functioning of cables and conduits
Assist with cable hauling to ensure cables are installed and managed correctly
Service Location and related tasks
Adhere to established procedures and protocols to ensure efficient and safe work practices
Reporting back to management on jobs
Experience/qualifications required
Minimum 3 yrs experience as a Telecommunications Technician or a minimum of a level 4 qualification in electronics or telecommunications.
Networking and IT troubleshooting experience
Current WTC1 and WTC3
Current First Aid L1
Current TMO-P
