Tasks Include:
- Devising and maintaining office systems, including data management and filing
- Undertake design project from concept to completion
- Define project requirements, schedule, and equipment schedule, budget during the brief with customers
- Making sure the project is running according to schedule and budget
- Produce sketches, drawings, and floor plans to illustrate concepts using CAD or hand-drawing skills
- Review and analyse the building information when required
- Must follow New Zealand building codes, fire regulations, zoning laws when creating the plans.
- Interpret and translate customer needs into rough plans using Autocad and Revit tool or any other equivalent tools effectively
- Modify and update designs based on review comments from management and client.
- Develop construction drawings and details of interiors when client confirmed the concept plan.
- Create a timeline for the interior design project and estimate project costs
- Work closely with a team of other professionals such as fire engineers, mechanical engineers, project managers and contractors
- Present, promote and sell products/services to existing and prospective customers
- Research and decide on materials and products sourcing
- Advise customers with the best materials and ordering the required materials and equipment, and providing them with samples of paints or materials to be used and costs
- Negotiate pricing for materials and labour with suppliers and contractors
- Provide project status updates to management on regular basis
- Follow up progress of project, building consent, construction programme and ensuring all of them are able to meet the deadlines.
- Supervise the project ensure that contractors are working according to plan, schedule and budget
- Resolve problems and issues that may arise during construction
- Inspect design after completion to determine whether customers’ needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Prepare application for building and resource consents under the supervision of the Director
- Travel regularly to building sites, proposed locations and client meetings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in arts, graphic desgin, fashion design, or a related field; or
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in relevant industry
