Job description
- Inspect equipment and work areas for cleanliness and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards prior to production.
- Check the quality of raw materials, weigh ingredients, and prepare pastry fillings.
- Mix, knead, mature, cut, shape, and mould dough and pastry products.
- Operate machines for rolling, moulding, and cutting dough and biscuits.
- Coordinate the entire baking process including forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling of bread, rolls, and pastries.
- Monitor oven temperatures and product appearance to determine optimal baking times.
- Glaze and decorate baked goods such as buns, pastries, and cakes using cream and icing.
- Clean, grease, and maintain baking trays, tins, and other cooking equipment.
- Bake various bread products, including loaves and rolls.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required by the employer.
Position Details
- Location: Taranaki
- Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Pay Rate: $26.50–$30.00 per hour
- Days Required: 5 days per week (rostered); weekend work and split days are required.
- Hours Per Week: Minimum 35 hours
Job Requirements
- Applicants must have either a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a NZQF Level 4 qualification from New Zealand (or an equivalent overseas qualification).
