We are looking for slaughtermen for the new season, commencing in September/October 2025.

This hands-on role operates on two shifts, day-shift and night-shift.  Exact hours may vary depending on the season.  Overtime rates apply.

The essential tasks and responsibilities of the job are:

  • Stun and kill livestock
  • Prepare carcasses for further processing by removing head meat, internal organs, and skins.
  • Adhering to health, safety, and food regulations.
  • Cleaning and sanitising equipment and work areas.
  • Other associated tasks as required.

You must have:

  • at least 1 year previous experience within the meat processing industry with a preference for 2-3 years.
  • knife handling and sharpening skills.
  • Capacity to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Have a sound understanding of good hygiene and safety practices.
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and medical assessment, together with ongoing drug testing.
  • Willing and able to follow workplace health and safety rules.
  • A high level of physical fitness and the ability to stand on your feet for prolonged periods of time.
