Furniture Maker

Work Location: Auckland Region

Employment type: Full time (minimum 30hours/per week, Tuesday to Saturday), Permanent role

Our pay: $29.66-$32.00 per hour depending on skills and experience

 

 

We are a construction company based Auckland

 

We are now looking for 1 Furniture Maker to join our supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right people and will allow access into a reputable and experienced company.

 

Tasks you may carry out:

 

·       Reviewing technical drawings, work orders, and sample parts to accurately determine specifications and requirements for each project

·       Measuring, cutting, and assembling wooden frames for bed bases and other furniture items using digital machines, hand tools, and power tools, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

·       Selecting and working with diverse materials, including timber, veneers, particle board, and synthetic wood, to achieve desired aesthetics and durability in furniture design.

·       Securing and attaching fabric, padding, and upholstery materials to enhance durability and maintain a neat finish on all products.

·       Inspecting finished products to confirm they meet established quality standards and specific customer requirements.

·       Following production schedules efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship.

·       Safely lifting and moving heavy materials, ensuring a well-organized and tidy workspace to promote a safe working environment.

·       Collaborating effectively within a team, demonstrating strong communication skills to facilitate smooth operations.

·       Exhibiting a proactive approach to learning new techniques and adapting to evolving production processes as required.

 

To be successful you will need to:

 

  • Have at least one year solid relevant experience in the same industry, or
  • Have a relevant NZ Level 4 qualification or equivalent qualifications/certificates
  • Be a great team player, be able to follow instructions
  • Be physically fit and willingness to work hard
  • Good eye for details and an ability to solve problems practically and effectively
  • have "can-do" attitude
