We are seeking experienced carpenters to join our team in Auckland. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for executing carpentry tasks with precision and efficiency, contributing to the construction of beautiful homes. This is a hands-on role that requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Duties
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, construction plans, and technical drawings
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood and other materials to construct various structures and components on the construction site
- Selecting timbers and materials, and preparing layouts
- Using hand and power tools such as saws, hammers, drills, levels, and measuring tapes to carry out carpentry tasks
- Assembling and fastening materials to make framework or props
- Erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards
- Installing structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim
- Building or repairing doors, frameworks, floors, and other wooden fixtures used in buildings
- Verifying trueness of structure, using plumb bob and level
- Following safety regulations and project specifications to maintain a safe working environment and comply with standards
- Keeping the work area clean and organized, minimizing hazards and optimizing productivity
- Working efficiently and meeting project deadlines while maintaining high-quality workmanship
Key Requirements
· Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role, preferably minimum 2 years’ relevant working experience or a level 4 qualification in Carpentry
· Proficient in using hand and power tools
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Physical stamina and strength to handle manual labour tasks
· Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
· Good communication skills
· Hardworking and punctuality
· Previous experience and skills in building townhouses and terraced houses are highly appreciated
