Job Requirements:
Candidates must meet any one of the following:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail industry.
- OR a Level 5 qualification in Business.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing and Inventory Management:
Monitor and control purchasing orders and incoming goods to ensure inventory levels are optimized.
Implement and manage stock control systems, ensuring accurate stock tracking and purchasing.
Make key decisions on stock control, pricing strategies, and merchandise availability to meet customer demand.
Marketing and Promotion:
Develop and execute strategies to promote and advertise the store’s goods and services.
Review merchandising activities and formulate pricing policies to boost sales and customer satisfaction.
Organize and authorize sales promotions, including clearance sales and special promotions.
Customer Service:
Serve customers by providing expert advice, recommending products, and upselling add-on products.
Handle customer complaints and comments efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Build and maintain rapport with customers to understand and address current and future service requirements.
Security and Financial Management:
Oversee store security systems, including cash management, keys, alarms, and stock control.
Maintain financial responsibilities, including budgeting, analysing variances, and taking corrective actions as needed.
Staff Management:
Recruit, select, orient, and train new employees, ensuring proper onboarding.
Motivate staff through coaching, counselling, and performance reviews to ensure high levels of performance.
Schedule and assign work to ensure store operational needs are met effectively.
Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and handle disciplinary actions when necessary.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all Occupational Health and Safety requirements are met within the store.
Maintain a safe working environment for both employees and customers.
Legal Compliance:
Adhere to all legal requirements and maintain the stability and reputation of the store through compliance with regulations.
Skills & Attributes:
Proven experience in retail management or a similar role.
Strong understanding of stock control, purchasing, and pricing strategies.
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to resolve complaints and provide recommendations.
Experience in managing and developing staff, with strong leadership abilities.
Ability to analyse financial data, manage budgets, and take corrective actions.
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety standards.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position.
Flexible working hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
Shifts can range from 2 hours to 12 hours per day.
Occasional travel may be needed for training or vendor meetings.
