The Automotive Buyer will source and purchase vehicles for dismantling and resale, managing both local and international procurement. The role includes overseeing overseas pricing and sales, negotiating with suppliers and customers, and ensuring compliance with regulations while optimizing costs and inventory management. Starting pay offered from $30 - $35 hourly will be fixed according to the skills and experience for 40 - 50 hours a week. However, this will be reviewed periodically. Any overtime will be paid as per above payrate.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Buying: Source and purchase vehicles for dismantling, ensuring quality and compliance with company standards.
Overseas Pricing & Sales: Manage international pricing strategies, negotiate terms, and maintain relationships with overseas suppliers and customers.
Market Analysis: Monitor local and international vehicle markets, adjusting pricing and procurement strategies based on trends and competition.
Supplier & Customer Relations: Negotiate and maintain contracts with suppliers and international customers.
Inventory Management: Oversee vehicle and parts inventory, ensuring efficient stock levels for domestic and international sales.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all vehicles and parts comply with local and international legal and environmental standards.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on procurement and sales performance.
Qualifications:
- At least three years of relevant experience, such as automotive sales or international trade. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the vehicle dismantling or wrecking business.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Familiarity with export/import regulations and environmental compliance.
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends.
- A clear police record is required.
