​​Job Description

  • Plan plasterboard layout and install insulation, vapour barriers, fireproofing, acoustic, and thermal materials as required.
  • Measure, mark, cut, lift, position, and securely fix plasterboard to walls, ceilings, and battens.
  • Prepare and install corner beads, cornices (plaster and paper), panel mouldings, ceiling centres, and other decorative or structural plaster fittings.
  • Cover and finish joints, corners, and screw fixings using wet plaster, sealing compounds, brushes, and sandpaper to create smooth surfaces.
  • Mix and apply coats of plaster, cement, and render to internal and external surfaces, ensuring a consistent and even finish using hand tools.
  • Straighten and align wall and ceiling surfaces, corners, and angles to ensure proper plumbing and level.
  • Create decorative textures and finishes in top coats as per design specifications.
  • Install and finish plasterboard partitions, suspended ceilings, fire-rated systems, acoustic panels, and composite linings.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as directed by the employer.

  • Job type: Full-time Permanent
  • Pay rate: 25.00- 35.00 New Zealand dollars per hour
  • Days required: Monday to Saturday
  • Hours per week: At least 30

Job Requirement

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience or a relevant NZ level 4 qualification or an equivalent overseas qualification is required.
  • Effective problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
