Job Summary

The Forklift Driver is responsible for operating forklifts to transport harvested vegetables, supplies, and packaging materials within the farm premises, packing sheds, and storage areas. This role supports the post-harvest handling, storage, and dispatch of produce while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move vegetable bins, pallets, and materials around the farm, packing sheds, and cool rooms.
• Load and unload trucks with harvested vegetables and farm supplies.
• Safely transport produce from harvesting areas to processing or storage areas.
• Assist with packing, grading, and dispatching produce during peak harvest periods.
• Conduct pre-start checks and basic maintenance of forklift machinery.
• Comply with farm safety protocols and hygiene standards.
• Keep accurate records of produce movements and assist with inventory tracking.
• Support general farm or shed duties when required.

Job requirement: applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job

• NZQF Level 4 qualification,OR
• At least 3 years relevant working experience
• Basic knowledge of post-harvest handling and cool chain logistics is advantageous.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and fast-paced environments.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically fit with the ability to lift and move heavy loads safely.
