Our client has been operating for the last three years and is responsible for the daily delivery of items as part of the courier service in the Canterbury region. We are looking for two courier drivers to join their team. 

 

About the role

This is a full time, permanent position, offering a minimum of 30 hours per week. All routes driven will be in the Canterbury region. You may be rostered anytime between 6:00 am to 6:00 pm daily between Monday to Saturday, based on the needs of the business.  

As a courier driver, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Transporting and delivering items in a safe and timely manner
  •  Loading and unloading items from vehicles
  •  Handling customer queries and escalating any complaints from clients
  • Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules
  • Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries
  • Maintaining the logbook in compliance with Transport Act 1962 and other relevant laws and company policies,
  • Keeping vehicle clean and tidy
  • Maintaining licensing requirement and ensuring no vehicles are operated without an appropriate class of license
  • Other duties as assigned

 

About You

To be considered, you will need all the following:

  • Clean, full Class 1 NZ Driver’s licence or equivalent
  • Minimum high school/secondary school qualification
  •  Physical fitness
  • Positive, can-do attitude and ability to handle stress
  • Experience in courier driving is advantageous but not essential for the role.

Due to the nature of the work, we test for Drug/Alcohol use - candidates must be able to pass these tests.
