We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Painter to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for painting and maintaining the interior and exterior surfaces of residential and/or commercial properties. This includes preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring a high-quality finish to enhance the appearance and value of the properties.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and priming.

  • Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.

  • Repair drywall, plaster, and minor structural imperfections prior to painting.

  • Match and mix paints to achieve desired color and finish.

  • Maintain clean and safe work areas and ensure all painting tools and equipment are in good working condition.

  • Coordinate with property managers or tenants to schedule work with minimal disruption.

  • Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate protective equipment.

  • Assist with other general maintenance tasks as needed.

  • Occasional Truck Driving

  • Location: Auckland
  • Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor or Manager
  • Employment Type: Full-time  Permanent 30 to 40 hours weekly                                       
  • Remuneration_  $30 to $35 ( Depending on experience)

Skills/Experience required:

  • Proven experience of at least two years as a professional painter, preferably in property maintenance or facilities management.

  • Knowledge of various painting techniques and surface preparation methods.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good physical condition and ability to lift, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.

  • Valid driver’s license and class 4 license is preferred (if travel between properties is required) & Reliable transportation. 

  • Experience with commercial and residential properties.

  • Basic carpentry or general maintenance & Garden Landscaping skills
